Firefighters Battle Huge Blaze on Greek Island of Evia

Firefighters were battling to control a wildfire on the Greek island of Evia on Wednesday, August 14, local media reported.

The blaze prompted evacuations from four villages and a monastery on Tuesday. Greece’s civil protection authority declared a state of emergency for affected areas.

This footage was posted by Twitter user @EYHK1 from the Evia town of Nea Artaki and depicts the spread of heavy smoke from the fires.
