A firefighting helicopter dropped water on the 28,000-acre Mineral Fire near Coalinga, California, on Friday, July 17.
Photographer Dave Mills recorded footage showing the aircraft as it dumped water on the fire.
The Mineral Fire broke out on July 13 and increased in size to 28,211 acres by July 20. The Fresno County Fire Department said the blaze was 49 percent contained.
According to CAL FIRE, evacuation orders were in place for Los Gatos Creek Road and other surrounding areas. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Credit: Dave Mills via Storyful
