Invictus Games Opening Ceremony Delayed by Sydney Storms

At least one person died in a storm that hit New South Wales on October 20 ahead of the Invictus Games opening ceremony in Sydney Opera House, according to local reports.

The 53-year-old man was struck by lightning at a race course in Guerie, near Dubbo.

Sydney Opera House said that the Opening Ceremony was delayed due to “severe thunderstorms.” Invictus Sydney later announced that the ceremony was given the all clear to continue around 8:20 pm.
