A man sustained serious injuries after setting himself on fire inside Pigalle metro station in Paris shortly before 6 pm on Thursday, April 15, according to local media citing fire officials.
The man was taken to hospital, and several shocked witnesses were tended to by firefighters, reports said.
Both Pigalle and Abbesses stations on Line 12 were temporarily closed as authorities responded to the incident, and train traffic was interrupted on Line 2 between Barbès-Rochechouart and Charles-de-Gaulle-Etoile stations.
