Military Helicopter Hovers Low Over Protesters in Washington

Military helicopters hovered low over protesters in Washington, DC, on June 1 in a move likened by the media to a tactic used to spook insurgents in warzones.

The New York Times reported that Army Black Hawk and Lakota helicopters were used to perform the maneuver, known as “show of force,” during the protests.

Earlier, protesters were forcefully dispersed from outside the White House using tear gas and rubber bullets, reportedly to make way for US President Donald Trump to make an appearance at the nearby St John’s Church before a 7 pm curfew came into effect.
