Kystverket, Norway’s coastal administrative agency, said on November 8 that a naval frigate collided with a tanker in waters off Oygarden, northwest of the city of Bergen.
NRK said eight people were lightly injured. As well as the frigate, the KNM Helge Ingstad, and the tanker, identified as the Malta-registered TS Sola, NRK said a tugboat was also involved in the collision.
Twenty-three people were aboard the tanker, and 137 aboard the frigate, NRK said. All of them were evacuated. NRK quoted a local fire official as saying 10,000 liters of helicopter fuel had spilled into the sea. Credit: Norwegian Coastal Administration via Storyful
