'No Guests = No Food': Bear Rummages Through Motel Dumpster Amid Coronavirus Lockdown in Pennsylvania

A bear was spotted rummaging through trash at motels in Hawley, Pennsylvania, twice in four days, according to the owners of East Shore Lodging who speculated that its food supply decreased as would-be guests stayed home due to the coronavirus.

Footage shared by East Side Lodging on March 30 shows a black bear foraging in its dumpster. “No guests = no food = hungry bear,” the motel wrote on Facebook.

The motel shared another video of what was said to be the same bear on April 1, this time making “a mess” of dumpsters at the nearby Greshams Landing motel, East Side Lodging said. Credit: East Shore Lodging via Storyful
