Protesters against pension reforms in France organized a series of torch-lit processions through several towns and cities on the night of January 23.
Video here shows the scene in Bobigny, one of several Paris suburbs through which marchers carried torches. In the center of Paris, marchers gathered at the place de la Nation.
Similar events were organized in Strasbourg, Lyon, Dijon, Bordeaux, and elsewhere around the country.
Protests and strikes have been continuing in France since early December, against proposed changes to France’s pension system. On January 24, further demonstrations were planned, with the Council of Ministers due to examine a draft bill of the reforms. Credit: FSU 93 via Storyful
