People With Disabilites Join Protests Against Algerian President

Wheelchair users and others with disabilities joined protests in Algiers on March 14 over President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s decision to extend his fourth term, local media reported.

The protest on Thursday took place on the National Day for People with Disabilities. Bouteflika said in March that the elections, which were due to take place in April, would be postponed. Bouteflika has been in office since 1999 and recently turned 82.
