Storm Dennis is following on the heels of Storm Ciara in the north Atlantic, and, as the Royal Navy’s HMS Echo noted on February 14, “the English Channel hasn’t been at its most hospitable of late”.
The ship’s Twitter account decided to stay upbeat though, and focus on the compensations of maritime life, sharing video of a school of dolphin’s swimming alongside the vessel.
HMS Echo, Vessel Finder showed, was sailing south of Plymouth in the English Channel on February 14. This video, however, was not dated.
Storm Dennis was expected to bring heavy rain, flooding, and travel disruption, according to the Met Office, with amber warnings issued for areas in southwest England and south Wales for 24 hours from mid-afternoon on February 14. Credit: HMS Echo via Storyful
