At least 12 people were injured in a series of explosions at a military ammunition depot in Northern Cyprus early Thursday morning, September 12, after a fire broke out at the facility, according to reports.
Kudret Ozersay, the deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, said on Facebook that a fire had broken out to the east of the facility, causing explosions, and that authorities were trying to tackle the blaze.
Reports said the explosions and fire continued for several hours.
