Severe Storms Strike Western Minnesota

Severe thunderstorms brought rain, hail, and damaging winds across northwestern and west-central Minnesota on Wednesday, May 18.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported hail in the region Wednesday, and announced another “severe storm threat” for the Minnesota Lakes country on Thursday.

Hail, 60 mph wind gusts, and localized flash flooding were possible, the NWS said.
