Tiny Microbat Pup Clings to Rescuer's Thumb

Queensland bat rescuer Denise Wade posted this video on July 23, which shows, with reference to her hand, just how tiny a microbat pup is.

In the video, the tiny animal clings to Wade’s thumb, which is significantly bigger than its entire body.

Wade said microbats are incredibly important to the environment due to their consumption of insect pests, such as disease carrying mosquitoes. She advised that the creatures are not to be handled without training and vaccinations. Credit: Batzilla the Bat via Storyful
