Trees Sprout From Wrecked Ships in Eerie Boat Graveyard on Staten Island

Drone footage captured the fascinating sight of greenery sprouting from long-abandoned ships at the Staten Island Boat Graveyard in New York City in mid-May.

Joanna Steidle recorded drone footage of the Staten Island Boat Graveyard, a dumping ground for old wrecked tugboats, barges, and decommissioned ferries. According to the Roosevelt Island Historical Society, the shipyard was established in the 1930s and has been the final resting place for more than 200 vessels. Credit: Joanna Steidle via Storyful
