Typewriter Added to Irish Orchestra for Arrangement of Dolly Parton's '9 to 5'

Dolly Parton says she used her acrylic nails to make the typewriter sound on 9 to 5, but Ireland’s RTE Concert Orchestra has gone one better, adding an actual typewriter to the instruments for its arrangement of the classic 1980s tune.

James Dunne, principal percussionist of the orchestra, can be seen using the typewriter here as the orchestra opens an encore performance of 9 to 5 during a show at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on February 13.

The concert, A Woman’s Heart Orchestrated, was a tribute to the 1992 compilation album A Woman’s Heart, which was the best-selling Irish album of all time. Credit: RTÉ Concert Orchestra via Storyful
