Volunteer designs 8-bit inspired video game to support VP Robredo’s presidential run
Analysts have called the upcoming Philippine elections unprecedented in terms of showing the power of volunteerism among its candidates’ supporters — many of who have devoted a great deal of time and resources to organizing events, distributing food and designing creative rally signage. Others are harnessing their unique talents to create innovative ways to drum up support for their favorite candidate.
Such is the case with J. Law Cordova, a computer engineer based in Davao City, who designed Let Leni Lead, an 8-bit-inspired “hyper-casual runner” mobile game, available now on the Google Play Store, that spotlights Vice President Leni Robredo’s achievements as she seeks to win the country’s presidency.
Users play as the vice president and have the goal of collecting pink hearts and roses to unlock other areas of the Philippines to gather more supporters. The more places you unlock, the more supporters you win over.

Earlier tweets showed J. Law working on the game as early as February with the goal of finishing the game a month before the election.
“[Robredo] deserves my support. I’ll help in the way I know how,” a tweet from Feb. 16 read.
The game currently has seven levels — Naga, Pasig, Bohol, Davao, Cebu, Samar, and Surigao — with more places planned in future game updates.
