The Washington Monument reopened to visitors on Thursday, October 1, after closing for more than six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The National Park Service’s National Mall branch said the monument saw its first visitors since March 13. Tickets must be purchased a day in advance and walk-up tickets were not available, officials said.
