THROUGH the years, each holiday season comes with expectations to be merry. Despite everything that has happened—both fortunate and unfortunate—Christmas reminds everyone of the most important aspects of life.
With this jolly season when everyone practices the act of gracious giving and humble receiving, feelings of gratitude are often woven throughout these acts whether intentional or not. And, the attitude of gratitude is consistently associated with greater happiness.
For this year’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino reminds everyone to be grateful with its theme “Tis’ the Season To Be Grateful” to “honor that Little Boy for bringing in timeless hope and unity to the world,” said general manager Anders Hallden during his opening speech.
“Yes, Covid-19 has changed all of our lives. But here’s the thing. Despite the many hardships we’ve been through, there are still reasons to be grateful. Our family, our friends and our loved ones especially. We, at Waterfront, aim to leave a mark in your hearts with blissful celebration and gastronomic delights for the holiday season that will truly make this a Christmas a Holiday wonder—tis’ the season to be grateful!”
The event was also graced by acting Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama—who happily announced that the city now has low Covid-19 positive rates compared to the last few months, and said he was grateful for the good news—Cebu City Health Department Head Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International 2018 Eva Psyche Patalinghug, and Cebu City Councilor Joel Garganera.
Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino hosts one of the most anticipated Christmas tree ceremonies in the metro where hundreds of people usually flock to witness the event, sparking the Yuletide vibe with its exciting, whimsical themes, and grand celebrations.
However, due to safety reasons and pandemic restrictions, the grand event was limited to distinguished guests.
As for the hotel lobby, it is filled with traditionally themed Christmas decor and three gigantic Christmas trees adorned with ornaments with Yuletide colors: green, red and gold. Indeed, hotel guests can truly feel the spirit of the holidays!
