15 Sep – Winwyn Marquez would have competed for the title of Miss Supranational Philippines if it wasn't for the pandemic ruining her plan.

As reported on Rappler, the actress who became the first Filipina to win Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017, shared that she actually had also aimed to win the aforementioned crown when she competed in Binibining Pilipinas in 2015.

"I mentioned to Carla and Bianca that in 2015, the second crown I really wanted was Supra. Everyone knows it. If the pandemic didn't happen, I'd think about joining," she said.

However, now that the situation has changed, Marquez said that the crown and beauty pageants as a whole are no longer a priority, adding that her biggest priority right now is her family and her training with the Navy.

"It's hard to compete if you're thinking about the pandemic. I don't know how I'll perform while thinking about what's happening to the country and the world. I can't mask or I won't be able to hide how I feel in my face, my words, my performance. I don't think I'll be able to do it," she said.
