Woman yields nearly P1M shabu in drug raid

ALMOST P1 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated from a woman during a buy-bust in Barangay San Roque, Cebu City at 6 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022.

Police Captain Joffre Grande of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Central Visayas (RPDEU 7) headed the operation that led to the arrest of Cynthia Cutamora, 33, and a certain Roderick Mariquit, 26, of Barangay Pangpang, Barili town, southwest Cebu.

Cutamora, subject of the operation, yielded at least 135 grams of substance believed to be shabu worth P918,000 and which were placed in her shoulder bag.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Failoga, chief of RPDEU 7, said Cutamora can be considered a high-value individual due to the large amount of illegal drugs that were taken from her.

The police described Cutamora as a keeper of illegal drugs and seller of the contraband.

The suspect reportedly can dispose around 100 grams of shabu in a week.

Cutamora will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (BBT, TPT)
