Woods, Vonn make first public appearance

Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn stepped out on the red carpet for the first time together on Monday night.

The couple made their first public appearance at Costume Institute Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Lindsey wore a white gown with sheer panels while Tiger dressed in a traditional tuxedo and tie.

Tiger put his arm around the Olympic skier as they smiled for photos, seven weeks after they took their relationship public.

Other celebrities attending the fashion event included Anne Hathaway, Miley Cyrus, Nicole Richie, Rooney Mara, Jessica Alba, Sienna Miller, Sarah Jessica Parker and Katy Perry.

Tiger, 37, acknowledged his romance with 28-year-old Lindsey on March 18 after several months of speculation.

The couple used simultaneous online announcements to confirm the relationship and posted pictures of themselves together.

“Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating,” Tiger wrote on his website.

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," Lindsey wrote on Facebook.

"Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months, and it has made me very happy."

Tiger made headlines with his marital split from ex-wife Elin Nordegren in 2010.

The golfing champion was linked to a slew of women while still married to the Swedish model, with whom he has two children.

Lindsey’s divorce from fellow Olympic skier Thomas Vonn was finalised in January. The couple had been married for over five years.
