BANGKOK-BASED Filipino Joel Kwong suffered a fourth round stoppage loss in the hands of Thai prospect Chainoi “Rockman” Worawut on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at the Workpoint Studio in Bang Phun, Thailand.
The 23-year-old Worawut unleashed a series of unanswered heavy punches to the head of Kwong and dropped him on one knee. The corner of a clearly dazed Kwong came into the ring to save him from more punishment and the referee waved off the fight in 2:40 mark of the fourth.
Worawut successfully defended his World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council super bantamweight belt. It’s his second straight successful title defense against a Filipino challenger after knocking out Jomar Fajardo last month. He remained unbeaten with 12-0-1 with 11 knockouts.
Kwong, 27, saw his four-fight winning streak end and dropped to 5-10 with five knockouts. (EKA)
