Xchange Forex-2000 sweeps Division A of SHAABAA, to take on Dynacast-2001 in playoffs

The Xchange Forex-2000 routed the Vivant Corenergy-1994, 95-71, to complete an impressive sweep of all their elimination round games in Division A of the 25th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) on Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena.

Batch 2000 seized complete control of the game in the third canto where they uncorked a massive 30-15 run to turn a slim 42-39 lead into a sizable 72-54 advantage heading to the last 10 minutes of action.

Serg Al Gobui led Batch 2000 with 24 points and 14 rebounds, Dave Ting added 18 markers, seven assists and four steals, while Joseph Rudolph Lo stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 16 boards, six assists and four steals.

Batch 2000 finished the elims with an 8-0 record and will take on Dynacast-2001 in the best-of-three semis.

Batch 2001 finished the elims on a high note as they defeated GEF Daikin 98-1998, 67-59, to finish with a 6-2 record. Michael Justin Osmena led the way for 2001 with 16 points, Erwin Ngo added 14, while Josef Reoma put up 13 markers.

The other semis match-up in Division A will see the Magis Medical Fund-1997 battle the AutoLAB-1999, which also gained momentum heading to the playoffs after vanquishing the Speed Demon-1996, 67-55.

In Division B, the Starkwood Properties-2009 booked their spot in the semifinals with a 73-57 win over Prince/Laptap/MYMC ZeroSix-2006. Batch 2009 did not take long to assert themselves in the match as they established a 20-point lead, 26-6, after the first period.

Kyle Valmoria led the way for 2009 with 20 points and nine assists. Batch 2009 will next take on the SUPREA Ready Mixed Concrete-2011 in the semifinals. The unbeaten Cebu Landmasters-2003 will face off against the Bad Boys Wingz-2007 in the other best-of-three showdown.

In Division C’s semifinal matches, the undefeated Asian Orthopedics-2014 will tangle with the SABR Solutions Inc.-2018, while the Carampatana Food Corp.-2012 battles the MDP Customs Brokerage-2013.
