Most Filipinos believed that President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration is doing an excellent job in promoting women’s rights, a survey found.

The Fourth Quarter 2018 Social Weather Survey indicated a net satisfaction rating of +71% in the subject of women’s rights promotion by the government.

The survey also revealed the government continues to enjoy a “very good” rating among Filipinos, jumping +16 points from 50% in the third quarter of 2018 to 66%.

The survey was published on the same day Duterte referred to women as “b****es” and “crazy” at a gender equality event.

“P*** (b****es), you know you women are depriving me of my freedom of expression. You criticize every sentence or word I say, but that is my freedom to express myself,” Duterte said.

The president insisted that despite all the anti-women remarks he made, he actually loved women.

“That doesn’t mean that I want to touch them. I just like women. Not because [when I say that] I like women I want to despoil or dishonor [them]. They (critics) don’t get it. They don’t get what I mean,” Duterte said.
