MANILA, Philippines- It seems singer-songwriter Young JV was merely pacing himself when he released the promotional single "Your Name" from his second album "Doin' It Big." After the song made its mark as love theme in "24/7 In Love," he will put out next month the second single, "Tanong," which will distance him from being just a hip hop, rap and R&B artist.
A love song in midtempo and done acoustically, away from the usual grooving or danceable songs JV has been known for, "Tanong" will come with a music video.
"Though I've been dipping my fingers into acting lately, I still want to be known as a musician gaya ni Gary Valenciano. Music remains my first love," he told Bulletin Entertainment in an interview.
In preparation for shooting the video, Young JV has taken up boxing as fitness regimen, along with basketball and doing weight training at the gym. He has also continued schooling at the Entrepreneur School of Asia where he is finishing a degree in Mass Communication. Love life, JV said, remains at bay.
The artist hopes to spend Christmas in Baguio with friends and family. He recently held a concert in Jaro, Iloilo and will take part at the MYX Mo concert to be held at Marikina Sports Park on Dec. 18.
Young JV also returns on "ASAP" in a more regular basis. His involvement in the Lahing Bayani Foundation, where he has about 20 scholars, also keeps him busy.
Released under Star Records, other tracks in "Doin It Big" are "Get Up And Dance," "Kailan Kaya," "Got To Have You," and "Pinas."
