THE Yoyi’s Pastries and Desserts—Cebu escaped with a narrow one-point win over the Bro J’s Bakery, 85-84, to capture its third straight crown in the FYA Basketball Season 24 at the Atillo Gym in Labangon, Cebu City.
Season MVP Reyboy Caballes led the way for Yoyi’s Pastries and Desserts as he canned in 19 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots, while former Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildkittens Ahlmark Albarracin was equally impressive as he came one rebound shy of a triple-double with 18 points, nine boards, 12 assists and two steals.
Yoyi’s Pastries and Desserts had to overcome a 12-point deficit, 47-35, in the first half.
The team made its move in the third quarter as Albarracin and Jao Rabadon caught fire, combining for 17 points to push their team in the driver seat.
Bro J’s Bakery answered with its own rally anchored by ex-University of Cebu Webmaster Daniel Enriquez to knot the game at 67-all. Enriquez finished thea game with 24 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Yoyi’s Pastries posted a four-point cushion, 82-78, with 2:16 left to play and did not look back. (PR)
