Filipina-Japanese golfer Yuka Saso had a sluggish final round performance in the Women's British Open as she shot a three-over 75 to finish the competition in joint 39th place on Monday in Carnoustie, Scotland.
The Filipina had a horrendous front-nine as she opened her stint with a double-bogey on the par-4 first and then, a triple-bogey on the par-4 hole no. 9. She finished the tournament with an even 288 aggregate after scores of 68, 71 and 74 in the first three rounds.
The reigning US Women’s Open champion bagged $30,583 in the last major tournament of the season, which was won by Swedish golfer Anna Nordqvist, who had a final round score of 69 to finish with a 12-under par.
The 34-year old Nordqvist nipped the likes of Georgia Hall, Madelene Sagstrom and Lizette Salas by a single stroke. JNP
