After much uncertainty, it's finally been confirmed that Zack Snyder's Justice League – the new four-hour re-edit of 2017's Justice League – will be released on Sky Cinema and NOW TV in the UK from 18 March.

This means UK audiences will be able to watch Snyder's long-awaited re-edit on the same day it launches as a HBO Max exclusive in North America.

Snyder stepped away from making Justice League in its post-production period in 2017, following the tragic death of his daughter.

Avengers Assemble and Buffy director Joss Whedon was drafted in to finish the movie, and radically altered the film.

The resultant movie was panned by critics, with fans calling for Snyder's own cut of the movie to be released ever since – calls which were heard last year.

After being given the green light to re-cut the original movie – and after an investigation into the alleged behaviour of Whedon — Warner Bros is now poised to unveil Snyder's cut of the movie, having cost an additional $70 million.

Now running at four hours, and rated R, the new cut of Justice League will be presented in six individual chapters, and a 20-minute epilogue.

The chapters are titled:

  • “Don’t Count on It, Batman”

  • “The Age of Heroes”

  • “Beloved Mother, Beloved Son”

  • “Change Machine”

  • “All the King’s Horses”

  • “Something Darker”

  • Epilogue: "A Father Twice Over"

Here's the official synopsis: "In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions.

"The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions."
